Hassle-Free Application

When working with our color-changing heat transfer vinyl, you will have fun bringing your artistic vision to life. The process of application is pretty straightforward. All you need is a cutting machine, cutting mat, heat press, or a household iron with no steam, parchment paper, and weeding tools. 

Design or select the artwork you want to apply to your fabric. Make sure to mirror the design before cutting. Also, consider the size and placement of the design on your fabric.

Preheat your heat press or iron to the appropriate temperature. For color-changing HTV, the settings will preferably be 285°F / 140°C. Place the garment or fabric item on the heat press or a flat, heat-resistant surface if using an iron. Pre-press the fabric for a few seconds to remove any moisture or wrinkles and ensure a smooth application surface.

After the design is cut, weed off the extra vinyl using a tweezer or a weeding pen leaving only your desired artwork on the carrier sheet. Position the color-changing HTV on the fabric with the carrier sheet facing up. 

Place parchment paper on top of the design and apply heat with medium pressure for 12 seconds in a heat press machine. If you are using a household dry iron, set it on ‘cotton’ and apply steady, firm pressure to all parts of the design. Do not move the iron around. Just keep it on the design and press firmly. It might take a bit longer with an iron, so make sure to apply enough heat and pressure to activate the adhesive properly.

Once the time is up, carefully lift the press or iron and remove the parchment paper. Allow the vinyl to cool down slightly before peeling off the carrier sheet. Take it off at a 45-degree angle slowly and smoothly. Inspect the design to ensure proper adhesion. If everything looks good, your color-changing HTV application is complete!
