Perfect Application

Our Flock Heat Transfer Vinyl is compatible with cotton, polyester, and poly/cotton blends. If you like layered designs, it can be used only as the topmost layer. The application of our vinyl is also a breeze. It has a strong adhesive backing that forms a robust bond with the fabric when heat and pressure are applied to it.

All you need for the process is a cutting machine or a pair of scissors if you have a simple design that you would like to cut manually, a cutting mat, a weeding tool, a heat press or household iron, and parchment paper. 

Start by preparing the garment that you want to embellish. If it is cotton, it is better to prewash it to avoid shrinking later. Also, preheat your chosen fabric for 2-3 seconds to remove all moisture from it. This step is important for the longevity of the vinyl and perfect adherence. 

Select the design that you want and finalize it on the software that comes with the cutting machine. Set its dimensions according to the space on the fabric. You might need a tape measure for this. Place a piece of our Flock HTV slightly bigger than the design on the standard tack green mat and load it in the automated cutting machine. 

Once the design is carved, weed out the negative vinyl using a tweezer or a wedding pen. You can get these easily from our ‘Accessories’ section. Carefully position your crafted heat transfer vinyl onto the fabric, aligning it to perfection. Place it in the heat press machine, put parchment paper on top, and apply heat and pressure to it. 

Our Flock HTV needs to be pressed at 310℉ to 320℉ (154 ℃ to 160 ℃) for 10-15 seconds. This will allow the vinyl to bond seamlessly with the fabric. Let the transfer cool for a couple of minutes then gently peel away the carrier sheet, unveiling a remarkable, awe-inspiring design that not only looks stunning but also feels luxurious to the touch. Care Instructions For Flock HTV

If you want your design to last for a long time, you will have to follow simple care instructions for our Flock Heat Transfer Vinyl. Do not wash the garment for at least 24-48 hours after you have applied the design to allow the vinyl to cure properly. 

Turn the garment inside out before washing. Wash your hands in cold water or use a gentle cycle on your washing machine to avoid excessive agitation. It is best to air dry the garment. Do not use fabric softeners or bleach. Dry cleaning is not recommended for garments with Flock HTV. The chemicals used in the dry cleaning process may damage or degrade the vinyl.

Iron the garment inside out as well or place a thin cloth between the iron and the Flock HTV to protect the design. Avoid ironing directly on the flock surface. When not in use, store the garment flat or hang it to prevent creasing or distortion of the Flock HTV design.
