1: Improper Heat And Pressure Application

Heat and pressure play a crucial role in the application process of HTV. If either of these factors is not applied correctly, it can lead to poor adhesion, resulting in the vinyl peeling off. Different heat transfer vinyl films might have varying heat and pressure settings to adhere perfectly.

If the temperature is too low or not within the recommended range, the adhesive on the HTV might not activate properly. The adhesive needs to fuse with the fibers of the fabric. 4: Improper Layering

If you love to make layered designs, you must know that some HTV films can only be used as the top layer. If any other vinyl is applied on them, it might not adhere properly and come off. This includes specialty vinyl like glitter and holographic.

Another factor that has to be taken care of while layering is the correct application of heat and pressure. Since different films are placed on top of each other, excessive heat cannot be applied to one layer as it might lead to the vinyl at the bottom burning or warping. The top layers will come off as a result. Also, don’t put more than four layers if you don’t want edges lifting and peeling.
